My name is Bethany Kline and I am an Associate Professional Counselor at Hope Springs Counseling, LLC. I graduated Magna Cum Laude from Liberty University with my Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology and Christian Counseling, and I obtained my Masters of Arts degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Liberty University. I am trained in individual, couples, and group therapy in a number of different counseling approaches.

In my view, counseling is an opportunity for a counselor to come alongside someone and join them in their journey. Throughout this process, they are provided with compassion and a safe space to express themselves, under an umbrella of unconditional positive regard. Therapy is a relationship that exists within certain boundaries. These boundaries create safety and support clients in making changes that they desire and becoming empowered. I adhere to an eclectic approach to counseling because I firmly believe that not all interventions and approaches are effective with every client. Counseling should be a personalized experience, and thusly I prefer to draw from which ever approach is best suited to my client and their needs! I am humbled by the opportunity to help my clients through whatever storm they are experiencing. I consider the therapeutic alliance between a counselor and a client to be similar to that of a team in which a goal is set and we then work together using our joint strengths to achieve that goal.

I am a certified Prepare-Enrich facilitator, and take great joy in working with couples and other individuals dealing with relationship problems. It has been my mantra since embarking on my journey to become a counselor that I want to help people to love each other better. Sometimes that means working with a couple through premarital counseling, or with enriching the relationship of couples that have been together for many years. Sometimes helping people love each other better looks like helping an individual address some past pains to allow them to be more present in their relationship now. And I honestly believe that if we can love ourselves well, we can love other immensely more!

I love Art, crafting and basically doing anything with my hands and color. I have hosted Creative Journaling classes in the past and am looking forward to doing more art-based therapy in the future. I am happily married and my husband and I have 3 beautiful rambunctious children together who keep us on our toes and seeing the world through their eyes daily.
